The cottage sleeps five people comfortably and includes:
- A well-equipped kitchen
- You own private dock
- A fire ring and firewood
- Weber grill
- Canoe, kayaks, paddles and adult lifejackets
- Wifi
Big Hills Lake in located in the town of Wild Rose in Waushara County, Wisconsin. The town center is about 10 minutes away so it’s convenient to shop groceries and other vacation necessities. Wild Rose has several restaurants and antique stores as well as fishing and sporting supplies. It’s about 1.5 hours from Madison, 2 hours from Milwaukee and 3.5 hours from Chicago. People have been vacationing on Big Hill for generations.
The cottage well-maintained and clean but has that up-north rustic-and-quirky quality that many people seek.
If you are looking to enjoy lazy, cheerful days and star-filled nights, our cottage is perfect for you.
Entry/Upper Level
The entry or upper level offers lovely lake views from almost every window and features sliding glass doors that open onto a large deck with an incredible view of the lake.
The upper level features a fully equipped kitchen, a dining and living area, a fireplace filled with candles (sadly no fires), and a slightly odd but clean and functional bathroom.
The kitchen includes a full sized stove, double sink, refrigerator and microwave as well as a blender, toaster, coffee maker, hand mixer and all the pots, pans, glasses, mugs and plates you will need. Sorry, there is no dishwasher.
There is a flat-screen TV, DVD player, and a large movie library as well as family games and books for you to borrow.
The deck has a dining table and Adirondack chairs so you can sit on the and enjoy the view of people playing in the water belTow.
Lower/Sleeping Level
The lower level has four beds (1 queen, 2 twin and 1 double). It is separated into two “bedrooms” by a curtain. There is plenty of space, a large closet and multiple dressers, but it is a little short on privacy. This sleeping area ideal for families who like each other and value being together.
The lake can be accessed from the lower level through a ground level door.
Note: There is no bathroom on the sleeping level.
Water Access and Dock
The cottage is literally perched on the waters edge providing easy and close access. There are three ways to get to the water front:
- Stairs down from the upper level deck.
- Lower level door.
- Wide stairs from the front of the upper
There is a dock available for your use if you choose to bring a small boat. Our boat on a lift by the dock but there is a full side available for your use.
Depending on the water level we may also have a very small beach available.
